New Master’s programme Bioinformatics and BioComplexity

With the current Covid-19 measures it is hard to estimate with how many students we will actually start, but we have high hopes that we can start this September with about 15 to 20 students.

Work is in progress developing the obligatory masters course(s) in final details. We will start with an essentials course, covering in depth topics from BioComplexity and Bioinformatics supplemented with some handy skills in GIT and Linux command line. Especially the latter hasn’t found a place in any of our other (advanced) courses yet.

Covid-19 measures will have implications on the realization of our Master’s programme. After the online courses this year, those in 2021 probably need to be online as well. In the last teaching period we already gained experience in online teaching with our Introduction to Bioinformatics, Cancer Genomics and Advanced R courses. With hard work from our community we were able to convert existing courses into online courses efficiently.
