One of this year’s Vidi grants has been awarded to UBC member Daniel Tamarit for his project Blueprints of the Third Domain. The Vidi grants are awarded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO). Daniel investigates how archaeal genomes evolved at the dawn of eukaryogenesis, using phylogenomics and large-scale evolutionary genomics to uncover the origins of complex life.
