Infrastructure

High Performance Computing

We coordinate a High Performance Compute (HPC) facility for all Life Science researchers at Utrecht Science Park. We provide access to over twenty different research groups from UMC Utrecht, Utrecht University, Hubrecht Institute and Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology. For more information about the current HPC facility, see the HPC facility wiki*.

We are actively investigating new possibilities and coordinating activities aimed at providing better storage and network infrastructure. Many of these activities are done in close collaboration with the IT departments from the UBC partners as well as with research groups involved.

Bioinformatics Infrastructure at Utrecht Science Park

Utrecht Bioinformatics Center facilitates high performance computing infrastructure for Life Science research based on big data. World class, leading bioinformatics requires large compute, storage and network infrastructures. Without access to a proper infrastructures, bioinformatics analyses are impaired and research is seriously hampered.

Life Science AI Foundation Models (LifeSci-FM)

We are building a digital research infrastructure that provides scientists access to pre-trained foundation models tailored for life sciences. These AI models help analyse biological data, accelerate discoveries, and support applications in genomics, drug discovery, and precision medicine. By offering shared access, we lower technical and computational barriers, enabling broader participation in AI-driven research. This platform fosters collaboration, ensures responsible AI use, and democratizes cutting-edge technology for life scientists. By integrating AI into research workflows, we empower scientists to tackle complex biological challenges efficiently, driving innovation in healthcare, biotechnology, and environmental science.
