About the Utrecht Bioinformatics Center

The Utrecht Bioinformatics Center (UBC) is a community that brings together a large number of internationally leading research groups with a strong bioinformatics component, located within Utrecht University, University Medical Center UtrechtHubrecht Institute and Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology.
The primary aim of the center is to further strengthen and promote bioinformatics research within the life sciences by coordinating bioinformatics infrastructure, bioinformatics education and bridging bioinformatics expertise. The center also provides (inter)national exposure to the high class data-driven bioinformatics performed in Utrecht. The center is run by an executive committee and advised by an advisory committee.

Advisory Committee

The advisory committee meets with the executive committee twice per year to discuss progress & plans of the UBC. More important the advisory committee gives advise and alerts the executive committee of the UBC on important developments, opportunities and proposes a long term strategy for future goals. Finally the advisory committee represents the interests of the UBC on the national and international stage.
