Bioinformatics Industry Day (14:00-17:00May27)@Mezzanine, UU

On Monday, May 27 from 14:00 – 17:00, in collaborations with Utrecht based companies like GenDx, the Hyve, Cyclomics, Genmab and Cergentis, the UBC organizes an Industry Career Day for our next generations of bioinformatician scientists and future collaborations. Everyone is welcome!

GenDx was co-founded by Erik Rozemuller PhD and Wietse Mulder PhD in 2005 as a spin-off from UMC Utrecht. Specialized in molecular transplant diagnostics, GenDx, part of Eurobio Scientific Group, develops and offers a comprehensive line of reagents and services, analysis software, and education. The vision of GenDx is to advance the field of transplantation by offering excellent molecular diagnostic tools and sharing knowledge with the mission to improve the quality of life and survival of transplant patients.

The Hyve was founded in 2012 by Kees van Bochove and over the past decade, has grown from a small startup into a company with worldwide operations. The Hyve helps life science organisations align their data infrastructure and research needs, including global pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and research institutions. They are a young, fast-growing company employing an international and multidisciplinary team of data and IT specialists who share the same mission: to enable open science. Their expert team is dedicated to helping clients align their data infrastructure and research needs by leveraging open-source software and FAIRifying data.

Cyclomics are a Dutch innovative health-tech company founded in 2018 by scientists of the UMC Utrecht. Its ambition is to transform cancer care by enabling faster and more reliable diagnoses, particularly in the context of cancer recurrence thanks to its proprietary circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) detection technology.

Genmab was founded in 1999 in Copenhagen, Denmark. They are a dual-listed, international biotechnology company specializing in the creation and development of differentiated antibody therapeutics to fight against cancer and other serious diseases. An experienced international management team sets the direction for their growth. Their proprietary product pipeline and next-generation antibody technologies result from a strong company culture and passion for innovation.

Cergentis was founded in 2012 as a spin-off from Hubrecht Institute for Development Biology & Stem Cell Research and Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and became part of Solvias in 2022. They are a genomics-focused biotechnology company and leading provider of genetic quality control solutions, based on its proprietary Targeted Locus Amplification (TLA) technology platform. By helping to de-risk R&D program decisions, minimizing time-to-clinic, providing objective genomic evidence to regulators, and supporting patient safety, they aim to support biopharmaceutical medicine programs worldwide.
